We regret that unfortunately the COPD Adviceline is coming to an end. It will close on 31 December 2024 due to lack of resourcing.
The Asthma Society of Ireland fully recognises the ongoing need for COPD patient support and guidance, and you can still contact our nurse via WhatsApp by texting 086 059 0132.
We are working to provide you with a list of alternative resources during this transition and will share more detailed information on this page soon.
In the meantime, please visit the COPD Support Ireland website for more information on COPD supports and services. ALONE also operates a National Support & Referral Line, which can be contacted on 0818 222 024.

How it Works
COPD Adviceline
This is a free one-to-one callback service. Just call the COPD Adviceline on 1800 83 21 46 and we will arrange a call from our nurse/physiotherapist at a time that suits you.
Calls can last up to 30 minutes, and you can schedule follow-up calls, if necessary. Please note that our services are conducted through English.
WhatsApp nurse messaging service
This is a free text-based service, which allows you to message an expert nurse at your convenience. Once you send your first message, you will receive an initial automated response and one of our nurses will respond within 72 hours. Our nurses can answer any queries this way, and can send links, videos and infographics directly to your phone. This is not a call service – if you would prefer to speak directly to a nurse or physiotherapist, please call our COPD Adviceline on 1800 83 21 46.
IMPORTANT: Please note that our services are not emergency services. In the case of COPD flare-up or if you are in need of urgent care, call 112 or 999 immediately.
If you have any questions about our services, please contact us at reception@asthma.ie.
