COPD

Getting a diagnosis of COPD (chronic obstructive pulmonary disease) can be overwhelming, and living with the condition can be challenging.

We're here for you whether you're worried about your COPD or you need help supporting someone with COPD.

Our services are delivered by medical experts so you receive the most up-to-date, evidence-based support in COPD management.

We have a team of expert nurses and a physiotherapist ready to provide free advice and support if you have any questions or worries about your or your loved one’s COPD. The team can be contacted in the following ways:

  • COPD Adviceline: 1800 83 21 46*
  • WhatsApp: 086 059 0132
  • Request a call using this online form

* This service is managed by the Asthma Society of Ireland and delivered in collaboration with COPD Support Ireland.

How it Works

COPD Adviceline

This is a free one-to-one callback service. Just call the COPD Adviceline on 1800 83 21 46 and we will arrange a call from our nurse/physiotherapist at a time that suits you.

Calls can last up to 30 minutes, and you can schedule follow-up calls, if necessary. Please note that our services are conducted through English.

WhatsApp nurse messaging service

This is a free text-based service, which allows you to message an expert nurse at your convenience. Once you send your first message, you will receive an initial automated response and one of our nurses will respond within 72 hours. Our nurses can answer any queries this way, and can send links, videos and infographics directly to your phone. This is not a call service – if you would prefer to speak directly to a nurse or physiotherapist, please call our COPD Adviceline on 1800 83 21 46.

IMPORTANT: Please note that our services are not emergency services. In the case of COPD flare-up or if you are in need of urgent care, call 112 or 999 immediately.

If you have any questions about our services, please contact us at reception@asthma.ie.
