Childhood Asthma webinar (2026)
Chaired by Eilís Ní Chaithnía, CEO of the Asthma Society of Ireland, this webinar was delivered as part of Asthma Awareness Week 2026 and features Dr Louisa Owens, Paediatric Respiratory Consultant at Children’s Health Ireland, and Respiratory Nurse Specialist Ruth Morrow. The session covers what childhood asthma is, how it is diagnosed and treated (including MART for older children and teenagers), common symptoms and triggers, the importance of asthma reviews and Asthma Action Plans, and practical advice on day-to-day asthma management, inhaler technique, school supports and responding to asthma attacks. The recording also includes the live Q&A session, where common questions from parents and carers were addressed by our expert panel.
Our 2026 Asthma Awareness Week campaign was supported by ALK and GSK.
